Escorted Tour (noun, pron. “ƏS’kôr’tǝd TŪR”)
¹ A prearranged travel program, usually for a group, conducted by a guide or tour director who takes care of all services from beginning to end of the tour. A full package usually includes flights, hotels, transportation, transfers to the airport/hotel, most meals and sightseeing and are typically conducted by motorcoach. They can be fast-paced, with no more than 2 nights spent in each location, or more leisurely, with more time spent overnight at each locale.
“Originally, we were going to book a cruise around the British Isles, but in order for us to REALLY experience the Irish culture, our Vacation-Expert suggested an escorted tour by motorcoach instead.”
